FAQ - Startup Georgia

• Who evaluates the grant applications?

  The quality of applications’ is evaluation by the international experts, however, the technical valuation is done by the GITA.

• Can individuals apply to the Startup Georgia Grants Program for funding?

  The application will be accepted; however, in case of grant award the individual must register as a legal entity prior signing the grant agreement.  

• How much is co-funding portion for Startup Georgia Grants’ Program?

  Minimum 10%.

• What is the maximum amount of funding I can request under the single applicable?

  GEL 100’000.

• What are the major eligibility criteria for accepting the grant application?

  For the detailed response on the given question, please refer to Chapters 2 (Eligibility Criteria) and 5 (Project Evaluation and Financing Decision) at the Startup Georgia Global Matching Grants Manual.

• Can I gain co-funding for the Startup Georgia grant from the other sources?

  For the project purposes, it is highly desired that the co-funding is gained from private sector, however, other means of funding (except state awarded grants) can also be accepted.

• Will the Startup Georgia Grants Program support the application on wine production and/or other production/service activity related to wine industry?

  The wine production and/or other production/service activity related to wine industry can be funded by the Program in case if the idea meets the innovation criteria.
